Metaphor "Entertaining Thanatos"
Metaphor "Entertaining Thanatos"

Excellent US band mixing the spirit of early Van Der Graaf Generator with large doses of classic Genesis & 80s prog ala the best of IQ. They manage to do all of this without sounding too derivative. The singing is particularly appealing sounding like a cross betwee Gabriel, Hammill & Peter Nichols (of IQ) but instrumentally they are every bit up to the task of such music. The guitarist recalls sometime Steve Hackett but doesn't try too hard to sound like anyone in particular. For those who enjoyed their debut "Starfooted" you certainly will not be disappointed but they didn't just remake that album as there are more influences at work this time around.
