Authorized CDR made by the artist! Musically this is very like early Van Der Graaf Generator and is one of the rarest prog LPs from the USA. Originally produced privately in 1980 in a micro pressing and it never turns up. The brainchild of Larry Oliver this is quite dominated by his excellent keyboard playing and his Peter Hammill-like vocals. He is very ably assisted by guitarist Randy Shuford, drummer Mac McNeilly, bassist Kent Fields with additional spice added by a violinist (Kevin Young, who also helps with vocals) and a sax/harmonica player (Paul Malaspina). Imagine if Rick Wakeman had helped to make the first two VDGG albums!! Though there is some noticeable surface noise from the LP transcription, this sounds really excellent - so, unless you are willing to spend the $500 - $1000 for an original LP (assuming you could turn one up) then this is the way to go. A really excellent and almost totally unknown gem of the US prog scene! Featuring the original fantasy cover art this legit reissue is made under Oliver's own name as opposed to the band name (presumably becasue Oliver has a career as a jazz/latin pianist these days) but is identical to the original in every other respect! A long lost prog gem not to be missed.
