Superb debut by this Fort Wayne, Indiana musician who operates firmly in the 70s jazz-rock mode of artists like Chick Corea, Jan Hammer or Herbie Hancock. There is also a delicate feature to his music which recalls some of the French fusion pioneers and also some aspects of the Canterbury scene. The trio features Mr.Steele on piano, Rhodes, Hammond, clavinet and synths. Tim Beeler provides the bass & Kent Klee is on drums. The rhythm section is tight and supportive. The keyboard work is delightful & memorable. Fort Wayne isn't known for jazz-rock music but quite a few prog bands have either come from there (Ethos) or had members from there (Yezda Urfa, Starcastle). So why not excellent progressive jazz-rock, too?!?!
