Excellent new band with members of the Baltimore area group Cerebus Effect as the core. Apparently Cerebus Effect are now gone which is a pity since they had just begun but this new band is more symphonic and perhaps a bit more 'serious'. Drummer Patrick Gaffney was a founding member of Cerebus Effect and the keyboard player here is Dan Britton who was on the last CE disc. The sound is filled out by guitarist Dave Berggren, bassist Brett d'Anon and multi-instrumentalist Frank d'Anon on woodwinds, trumpet and xylophone on the epic "Inaugural Bash" and keyboards on "The Solitude of Miranda". Fans of groups like A Triggering Myth or After Crying will be well-pleased! Long tracks (27' , 16' , 12' , 9' & 7') and 80% instrumental, Deluge Grander will be a great find for fans of symphonic rock. Also the package - while not elaborate - is very nice with a different piece of original artwork for each piece of music! The art is very impressionistic, recalling Paul Whitehead (Genesis, Van Der Graaf Generator) , Kim Poor (Steve Hackett) or Peter Cross (Anthony Phillips' solo albums)! In total, a really classy release!
