Beautiful Japanese version in regular jewel case of this now-classic album of heavy prog! Has a bonus track not available on the US version! For those not familiar with Mastermind their sound centers around the formidible guitar skills and compositional prowess of Bill Berends. On this CD he is joined as always by his brother Rich Berends on drums and by two newcomers on keys & lead vocals (female). The keyboard player is noneother than Jens Johansson and the singer is one Lisa Bouchelle (easy on the eyes & ears!). Musically, imagine a cross between classic-era Rush, Yes & ELP with a side order of Dream Theatre. Although very heavy in places, this is primo prog rock with well-thoughtout compositions, virtuoso playing and beautiful melodies! Mastermind are everything that prog rock should be and more. Lots of classical symphonic sounds, great solos, furious drumming and lush arrangements with beautiful female vocals on top. What more could you ask for?!?! I guess this is sorta Renaissance on steroids!!
