This excellent live disc was recorded at various venues during Tunnels' 2003 tour of the east coast plus a date in Nashville and one in our very own Louisville, KY! Guests John Goodsall (guitar), Mark Feldman (violin)and Van Manakas (guitar) have appeared on the studio albums over the years. And Lance Carter (drums) and Julien Feltin (guitar) have played with Tunnels at various times over the last few years. As you can imagine, the playing from everyone is top notch and the different line-ups give the tunes new perspectives. Of the ten tunes represented here there are four from "Tunnels with Percy Jones" (Inseminator, Prisoner of the Knitting Factory Hallway, Tunnels, Barrio), one from "Painted Rock" (Lilly's Dolphin) and three from "Progressivity" (Syzygy Incident, Wall to Wall Sunshine, Frank's Beard) plus two new tunes: a re-working of the improvisation "Bad American Dream 2001" called "Bad American Dream the 43rd" and a brand new Percy Jones tune called "Flavor" ! Of course the core band is Percy Jones (bass), Mark Wagnon (midi-vibes) and Frank Katz (drums). The majority of this was recorded direct to a hard drive. Normally I prefer live albums to be from one performance but "The Art of Living Dangerously" was the only way to capture the chameleon that is the live Tunnels!
