**************SUPER PRICE ON THIS PRIVATE RELEASE!! ********** Over the years many of our customers who are also musicians have sent us many excellent examples of their music. Often we are so impressed that we decide to add their releases to our offerings. Such is the case with guitarist/composer John Fiocchi. Though his other releases are CDR products, "Lighthouse Summer" is a properly pressed CD. This is a collection of instrumental guitar-based progressive compositions that John feels are among the best recordings he had done. We agree and it makes for a very good album of prog guitar. John's guitar playing recalls many of the prog greats. Steve Hackett, Anthony Phillips, Andy Latimer and Steve Tibbetts come to mind. Although Fiocchi is clearly influenced by these guitarists, and other musicians of the era such as Mike Oldfield and Pink Floyd, he does manage to create his own place inside of that legacy. His use of 12-string will make many listeners recall fondly the early days of Genesis or some of Anthony Phillips' solo work. His electric work recalls Snow Goose-era Camel or classic Pink Floyd. The overall ambiance of many of the pieces makes one think of early Steve Tibbetts. The listener may get the feeling he/she is hearing a long-lost album that Steve Hackett made for ECM! John plays all the instruments on "Lighthouse Summer" including many different acoustic & electric guitars, bass, keyboards (even some mellotron sounds!) & drums. Though most of the pieces are mainly guitar instrumentals, when this gets going it can "rock" in its own quiet way! Beautiful & recommended!
