The saxophone playing of Markus Stauss is always amazing and here he takes over the role of the guitarist, riffing furiously at times to push the music forward and soloing where appropriate. The American electric bassist Jean Chaine has played with many people over the years but you may still not be familiar with his playing. Part Jaco, part Percy Jones and part Billy Sheehan. His playing is a highlight of this recording! The drummer Remy Strauli is also from Switzerland. He has played with Yolk and currently plays also with Markus Stauss in the new-music ensemble Spaltklang. On this recording he rocks a little harder than usual coming off a bit like a cross between Pippin Barnett (of Curlew fame) and Chris Cutler! Fascinating modern avant rock instrumentals. Not a single moment of filler! Highly recommended to fans of bands like Curlew, Everyman Band or Blast.
