Avant/jazz/progressive in RIO vein! Long tracks that cover much musical ground and even break some here & there. The band's name is pronounced with all long vowel sounds (rhymes with 'cute feet') and is derived from 'ut' (a medieval word meaning the lowest note on the organ) and 'Grets' (a nomadic, gypsy-like people who roamed across Europe bringing the newest musical innovations to the common folk). Famous guests include Eugene Chadbourne, Davey Williams (Curlew) and Henry Kaiser! Musically this is influenced by Magma, Soft Machine, Gong, Henry Cow, and John Zorn - but it is something so unique it has to be heard on its own terms! One of the best releases of its type ever produced in America, right up there with Thinking Plague and 5UUs!!
