Wow! A completely different band! Wade Summerlin (bass/vocals) is the only original member left on their third CD. New mambers include Soumen Talukder-drums and two females: Holly Williams on Guitar(!) and Brandi Byrum on keyboards & backing vocals. Brandi's keyboards add a new dimension to CS's sound, though they are very understated and subtle, clearly playing a supportive role in the music. Holly's guitarwork is not about showmanship (though she's clearly a capable player) but about placing every note in just the right place. This is a new breed of prog rock and I like it! They are a band who isn't afraid to be influenced by everything and they digest it all and come up with a sound all their own. So, they are not just doing a rendition of Genesis or Yes or King Crimson but pulling elements from The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Creed, Porcupine Tree, or whatever and incorporating them into their songs. If you want layers of mellotron, Hammond, Moog, or Fripp-like guitar parts - then probably best to check out Glass Hammer instead. But if you want good songwriting and a feeling of what good 'rock' music is about, check these guys out!
