"Mostly electronic music with chance composition "Nancarrow Island", ambient/world music "Vitamins & Intervals", and progressive intricacies. Lovers of my electronic music should be very pleased with this CD. Conceptually based on the Arthur Adamov's 1930s radio play, the over nine minute title track contains no repetition." [Crop Circle Collective] Leader Dan Sweigert (Star Period Star, 9 on Bali) has put out what amounts to a solo electronic work under the name That People's Sleep. Highly impressionistic recalling early Cluster in places and some of Fripp's 'Frippertronics' in others. This really is much more avant-garde than those artists and even includes a tribute to composer Conlon Nancarrow who worked mainly with piano rolls, punching his intricate piano scores into the archaic medium so that the piano could then reproduce his inhumanly fast and densely textured music. Sweigert uses computer technology to achieve similar ends but the resulting music is sublime!
