A massive 3 CD set containing their long out-of-print debut album, their limited edition (and also long o.p.) EP "...and every blossom", a re-mastered, re-mixed version of the rarities compilation "When The Sweet Turns Sour" + the re-mixes" which were given away as 'singles' with the initial pre-orders of "Cowboy Poems Free" and never issued before. These are actually re-recordings of older songs with the new line-up. Completely different versions of "As the World", "Suffoctaing the Bloom", "Shades" & "Carpe Diem"! + a completely unreleased song from 1989!! All inside a deluxe sleeve with extra goodies & photos, etc. As with all of the Echolyn products it is nothing short of stellar! Disc One - called "Chapter One" - features all of the debut album remixed & remastered for perfect sound. Disc Two - "Chapters Two & Three" - has all of the "And Every Blossom" EP + all of "When The Sweet Turns Sour" rarities compilation + live versions of "A Little Nonsense" and "As the World". Disc Three - Chapters 4-6" - has the four 2000 remixes (As the World, Suffocating the Bloom, Carpe Diem, & Shades), a completely unreleased studio track called "The Edge of Wonder" (the earliest song on the set, recorded circa 1989-90) and wonderful live versions of songs from Cowboy Poems Free (Texas Dust, Swingin' the Axe, Grey Flannel Suits). The booklet is full of great archival photos and is reasonably informative, though we would have liked to have heard more about the Sony 'fiasco'. Certainly it is good to have this early music available again and the extra live tracks & studio bonus are a good plus, too.
