Exellent book on the subject we all love! Includes a "free" CD with 30 minutes of early Pink Floyd taken from the soundtrack of "Tonite Let's All Make Love In London". The tracks include Interstellar Overdrive (16:46) and Nick's Boogie (11:50) plus (exclusive to this CD) interviews with David Hockney (a prominent London modernist painter) and actor Lee Marvin! Journalist Jerry Lucky has written a very easy to read history of the movement plus an overview of what "prog" is by definition and a third section provides us with a fairly comprehensive list of prog groups from the obvious heavyweights to the not-so-well-known bands to the totally obscure. This book is an excellent introduction to the genre and so would make a great gift to a novice friend or family member. Even a long-time fan like myself found Lucky's writing to be both a pleasure to read &, at times, very insightful. And if you are one who always wanted the Pink Floyd EP but hadn't bought it yet, this is a total bargain!
