New release from the French Soleil Zeuhl label. This is a Japanese band of keyboards,synths, programming & guitar,bass,vocals. The drums are programmed but it is done SO well that you'd swear there was a live drummer if you didn't know. The reference point most obvious to most avant prog listeners will be Univers Zero around the time of "Heatwave" or "Uzed". This music is intense and very well composed. The performances are tense & emotion-filled. Some points remind me of the Japanese band Nebelnest but the writing is much more varied. Although the clearest influence is UZ, the listener will certainly find some moments recalling King Crimson or Ruins. A fine release in the classic zeuhl style, the ghost of Magma is present as well.
