Langlois was a founding member of the Canadian group Maneige. He played and wrote music for their first two albums "Maneige" & "Les Porches". This is his first release in over 20 years and features members of Maneige, Conventum and Octobre! The musical style is somewhere between the chamber music of the early Maneige albums, the film soundtrack work that Langlois has been occupying himself with these last two decades and a sort of quasi-classical music that we sometimes get from groups like Conventum, Julverne or even Univers Zero - although "Molignak" is never that dark or sinister sounding. Langlois' music has an impressionistic, almost whimsical side with violin glissandi and cascading piano passages that almost recall some of Erik Satie's later works (like "Parade") or even some of the work of exHenry Cow member Lindsay Cooper! Another reference point would be the Italian group Gatto Marte. Excellent and highly recommended to fans of chamber music mixed with rock music. All instrumental with Longlois handling the piano, clarinet, electric guitar, composition & orchestration. With Mario Legare (electric & acoustic bass), Gilles Schetagne (drums, percussion, samples), Bernard Cormier (violin) with further guests on clarinets, cello & guitar.
