Regarded by many to be the exGenesis guitarist's finest solo album. Made while Steve was still a member of Genesis and featuring songs written for the group but rejected (an ongoing trend eventually leading to Hackett's departure) and with the rhythm section of Collins/Rutherford, this - in many ways - could have been a Genesis album. In fact much of this sounds like outtakes from Wind & Wuthering! Hackett did manage to realize the obvious Genesis comparison and tried to confuse the issue by having Sally Oldfield sing most of the lead vocals. This lends a more ethereal feeling to much of the album and does set it apart from many other Genesis-like albums that have been released either by aspiring prog musicians or Genesis members themselves. This is the original issue without the bonus tracks.
